Columbia Falls’ current Growth Policy was adopted by the Columbia Falls City Council on July 3, 2017.

Instead of debating whether Columbia Falls should grow, let's focus on a more productive question: where and how should that growth happen? The current point of contention isn't a lack of housing leading to elevated prices, but the location and density of new developments. By moving past a "not in my backyard" mindset, we can work toward a unified vision for the city that creates a more predictable process for everyone involved. The city's Growth Policy update, in compliance with the Montana Land Use Planning Act, provides an opportunity for public participation to help resolve this debate and create a plan for responsible growth that avoids unnecessary sprawl and benefits all residents.
