This policy explains what information Livable Flathead collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Livable Flathead is a doing-business-as name of Livable Places Institute, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based at 121 Wisconsin Avenue, Whitefish, MT 59937. Questions? What we collect
- Newsletter signups. When you sign up for the Flathead Valley Land Use Planning Brief, we collect your email address so we can send it to you.
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you choose to write.
- Meeting scheduling. If you book a time with us, our scheduling provider collects the details you enter (name, email, and any notes) to set up the meeting.
- Donations. If you donate, our donation provider processes your payment and contact details. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Basic site data. Like most websites, our host records standard technical information such as your browser type and general location, and may use cookies to keep the site running and understand overall traffic.
How we use it
We use the information you give us to send the newsletter you asked for, respond to your messages, schedule meetings, process donations, and keep the site working. We use aggregate traffic data to understand what’s useful and improve the site.
What we don’t do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site (email, scheduling, donations, and hosting), and only as needed to provide those services, or when required by law.
Services we rely on
This site is hosted on WordPress.com. We use separate third-party providers for our email newsletter, meeting scheduling, and donation processing. Each has its own privacy policy governing the information it handles on our behalf.
Your choices
- You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every issue.
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing nathan@livableflathead.org.
- You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though some parts of the site may not work as well.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page.
